Stuffing

Ingredients

  • Bread crumbs -2 bags

  • 4 large onions –to taste

  • Top part of the celery -leafy & “heart” of celery

  • 2 packages of gizzards

  • 2 stick of butter -1 &1/2 for onion & celery ½ sliced on top before cooking

  • Juices from gizzards

  • Poultry seasoning

  • Salt and pepper

Directions

  1. Start gizzards in slow cooker with salt & pepper & water

  2. ½ bread crumbs

  3. Sauté onions & celery in 1 & ½ margarine

  4. As stuff sautés take gizzards out, chop them into fine pieces

  5. Layer gizzards, sautéed stuff, poultry seasoning stir well

  6. Add 2nd bag of bread crumbs

  7. Add more onions, gizzards, & seasoning stir –as stirring moisten the mixture with juice from gizzards

  8. Put in a large greased pan, dot with margarine –cover it

  9. Bake for an hour at 350

  10. If it is too moist –take the cover off to cook & stir it up
